Wimbledon Light Opera Society is proud to present the UK amateur premiere of Made in Dagenham; the feel-good West-End musical based on the film of the same name.

Set in Essex, 1968, Made in Dagenham follows the efforts of Rita O'Grady (Elizabeth Burton) and her fellow Ford factory sewing machinists in their fight for equal pay after they find out their jobs are re-classified as unskilled. Facing opposition from her husband Eddie (Richard Galdwell) the Unions, their own friends and family, and even the Prime Minister, Harold Wilson (Des Muller), Rita and the factory women show that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.

A show full of catchy music from composer David Arnold (James Bond, Independence Day, Sherlock), heartfelt lyrics by Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer: The Opera) and a book full of laughter and warmth from Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors, Great Britain) Made in Dagenham will have audiences standing up and cheering the Ford women on.

Made in Dagenham is directed by Sarah Grey, with Chris Ma as Musical Director and choreography by Kim Findlay.
