Weds Apr 27 - The South London Soul Train presents night two of a duo of stunning seated intimate early evening concerts with one of Norways most beautiful soul vocalists, the simply sublime Monica Ifejilika + Full Band Live in concert at the CLF / Bussey basement aka Rye Wax.

MONICA IFEJILIKA (ife-ji-li-ka)

Soul singer and songwriter Monica Ifejilika (ife-ji-li-ka) creates strong, melodic and lyrically powerful soul music with stories of love, friendship and empowerment. Reminiscent of and inspired by the likes of Roberta Flack, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye and Al Green. 'Keep It Solid' brings you an original approach to classic soul music. ('Keep It Solid' Daworks Records/Ifejilika/Viervoll)

Artist and songwriter Monica Ifejilika is, after 15 years in the performing arts collective Queendom, ready with her first solo project. Since adolescence, she has had a special love for soul music, and inspired by legends such as Bill Whiters, Al Green and Marvin Gaye, as well as contemporaries like D'Angelo, Anthony Hamilton and Lauryn Hill, her style is strong, melodic and lyrically powerful.

As part of Norway's first and only black, female group, Queendom, Monica has performed on most stages, large and small, in her native Norway, as well as abroad. The unique arts collective is an outlet for pushing political and artistic boundaries. Her focus now however, is stories of love, friendship and female empowerment, and soul music - the way the greats used to do it.

Bottom line is Monica is truly is on the top of her game and we simply can't wait to welcome her to the SLST Live stage.

Event runs 7pm - 10pm with Monica Ifejilika on stage from around 8pm. So plenty of time to come, enjoy and make it home nice and early, ready for what you gotta do on Wednesday or Thursday.

Admission is set at £5/7/10/13 Adv or £13 OTD [Limited availability]

So grab one of the few tickets available now and get ready for an intimate performance with a true modern great.
