David Danzmayr conductor
Urška Horvat cello

Dvořák Cello Concerto, Op. 104
R Strauss Also Sprach Zarathustra, TrV 176

Witness the piece that made Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey so iconic, plus Dvořák's Cello Concerto, as Illinois Philharmonic’s David Danzmayr conducts the Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra in one of London’s leading concert halls.

Composed in 1896, Also Sprach Zarathustra is a tone poem based on Nietzsche’s controversial novel of the same name, which famously declared that 'God is dead.' Now with the popularity of 2001: Space Odyssey, the work has a new lease of life – symbolising scientific progress and human endeavour.

Finishing the programme, rising star Urška Horvat performs Dvořák's last solo concerto following her winning performance in the Trinity Laban soloists’ competition this year.

Tickets can be booked via the Cadogan Hall website or by calling the Cadogan Hall box office on 020 7730 4500.
