GRAD, in collaboration with Thea Films, is delighted to present Superwoman: ‘Work, Build and Don’t Whine’. Curated by Dr Natalia Murray and actor and award winning filmmaker Dolya Gavanski, the exhibition presents a fascinating exploration of the iconography of the Soviet woman in propaganda from the October Revolution of 1917 to the fall of the Soviet Union and the arrival of Perestroika in 1991. This exhibition, the 10th in GRAD’s Academy programme, charts the development of the Soviet woman and contextualises the propaganda image against the very different social reality of the time.
