SKAN is an Italian artist, born in Cagliari, in 1988. He's affinity towards painting on the streets started from the early age of 13 years old. He studied product and graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan but quickly after he undertook the path of illustration and painting. His influences are old masters such as Rembrandt, Bacon and Rauschenberg.

He often refers to the mental suffering and the difficulties of human relationships by depicting them through the deformation of human forms. In his work he uses the technique of aerosol with spray, combining it with acrylic and oil colours. He paints on different surfaces but prefers to work on big walls, to better express his concept.

Following his personal study on the human nature and shape, in this exhibition he analyses the occurrence in psychology known as “false memories”. A phenomenon in which a person recalls a memory that did not actually occur, or only a fraction of it is real. He tries to depict the deformation of memory through de-constructing the human form.

The works that the artist will present are painted with oil colours on canvas or paper, and give the impression of different dreams or memories mixed together. The shapes of the human body are distorted or incomplete like a dream that you half remember when you wake up, creating these strange memories.
