We are thrilled to be screening Every Cook Can Govern: the life, works & impact of C.L.R. James at Queen Mary University of London on Wednesday 26th October at 6pm. Every Cook Can Govern – the first feature-length documentary to explore the life, writings and politics of the great Trinidad-born revolutionary C.L.R. James, is an historical tour-de-force, which interweaves never before seen footage of C.L.R. James with unique testimony from those he knew, alongside interviews with the world’s most eminent scholars of James’ life, work and politics. Every Cook Can Govern marks the culmination of a three year multimedia project arranged by the education charity WORLDwrite and its Citizen TV station WORLDbytes. So we hope you can join us at the Arts One Building, Lecture Theatre, Mile End Rd, E1 4NS on Wednesday 26th October at 6pm, for a unique chance to see the film. This event is free and open to all, but since Worldwrite is a charity, there will be a collection on the door, and an opportunity to purchase DVDs afterwards. Click below to reserve your free place: There will also be a Q&A panel with Ceri Dingle (Director of Worldwrite), Robbie Shilliam (Professor in International Relations) and Bill Schwarz (Professor in English).
