Did you know that a family of 4 could save up to £700 a year by making the most of the food they buy? Couples and people living alone can also make large savings. At our Disco Soup event in Pinner on 27 October you can find out how this is possible and how you can make these savings whilst still eating healthily and keeping within their budget.

At Disco Soup there will be activities, presentations including from OLIO the food sharing app, and information stalls. Everyone can get involved preparing food that is being provided by the food surplus charity FareShare before a professional chef turns the ingredients into delicious meals that everyone will enjoy together.

The statistics around food waste in the UK are shocking. Not only is reducing the amount of food waste beneficial to our finances but there are also social and environmental benefits.

It is completely free to attend Disco Soup and we would be very happy to welcome you there. Register using Eventbrite (Disco Soup – Lettuce Dance to the Beet) or alternatively you can contact us for more information and reserve your place by email: [email protected] or call us on 020 8825 9468 and ask for the Waste Minimisation Team.

We’ve invited a wide range of groups and organisations but if you know of any local groups or others that would like to be invited to this event please let us know or forward on the details, asking them to get in touch with us. It would be wonderful if you are able to join in and help us promote the event using your website or newsletters.

If you can’t attend on this occasion and would like to know more about all the work we do to reduce waste we are very happy to meet individual groups. We can give interactive talks, run information sessions, have a stand at a community event and train up food champions. We use games and other resources to give relevant and useful hints, tips and ideas.

We hope to see you there!
