Modern Tale Of Desire, Hypocrisy, Love & Politics.
Produced and presented by Xameleon Theatre
Hosted by The Cockpit
After sold out performances of "Love in a Nutshell", Xameleon Theatre is back at The Cockpit with its next production, "The Marriage of Figaro" by Beaumarchais.
Written around the time of French revolution, this play has been performed all over the world and even served as an inspiration for Mozart's opera of the same name. Rather than adapting the story of Figaro into an opera or a musical, Russian director Alexia Mankovskaya is focusing on the timeless humour and dynamics of the original play by Beaumarchais.
This production, brought to life by a great ensemble of Russian actors, is a hilarious and very modern tale of desire, hypocrisy, love and politics unwinding in the course of one mad day.
Performed in Russian with English subtitles. Duration 2 hours 30 min (with interval).
