ouse of Vans London are proud to host Open Plan, presenting the work of graduates from Camberwell College of Arts.

The exhibition launches with an opening party on Thursday 26th January and will run until Sunday 12th February 2016.

Having recently graduated from Camberwell College of Arts, six artists will be taking over the House of Vans Gallery arches to create an immersive, engaging exhibition.

The Exhibition will explore space, architecture and site specific installation through painting and sculpture.

Using architectural studies, Kris Lock and Tom Penney’s paintings similarly explore the environments we inhabit. Both painters create an otherworldly space; Tom’s painting seems sparse but suggest relatable anchors to reality, whereas Kris formulates illogical scenes that question its own reality.

Melloney Harvey and Josh Philpott are presenting sculptures. Melloney uses traditional methods of making to mimic classical architectural structures often affiliated with gardens, then placing them into foreign environments. Josh uses recognised objects associated with a skateboard culture, such as curbs and skate stops, involving text that forms a character to these lifeless objects.

Bethan Wilkins and Paulo Sousa respond to the gallery space and its environment. Bethan will respond to the environment of Waterloo area and its architecture. Paulo introduces slight interventions to the space making you question its validity as an art work as well as the space you are in.
