Rory Macdonald, conductor
Kian Soltani, cello
Beginning with the haunting rhapsodic work by Vaughan Williams – his Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.
Cellist Kian Soltani performs Elgar’s rich Cello Concerto, with melodic, autumnal beauty remaining one of the greatest examples of English music to date. Dvo?ák’s Symphony No.9, ‘From the New World’, was inspired by the Native American and African-American music and the wide open spaces he saw in America.
