Following the launch of Ourtime, a dating site from Match aimed exclusively at the over 50s, the dating service has announced its latest summer activity; a painting class bringing together like-minded young people over 50 in a creative and relaxed environment.

The painting class, taking place at the Sunny Art Centre, a leading art institution in Central London, will offer singles the chance to meet, interact and have fun, all while uncovering each other’s creativity. Guests will be given easels, a paint palette and a subject to work from. The class will be led by a professional art teacher and is designed for everyone, whether you’re a long-time art enthusiast or picking up a brush for the very first time.

After attendees have shared their works of art with the group, they will be invited to mingle in a relaxed bar.

Ourtime research recently revealed that singles over 50 move their relationships along much more quickly than younger singles. Over three quarters (77 per cent) of those aged over 50 claim they would kiss a partner for the first time in the first week of going out, in comparison to 66 per cent of younger daters. Meanwhile silver daters are more than twice as likely (47 per cent) to become exclusive within six months (compared to 21 per cent of younger daters).
