“You know, I've always wanted a child. And now I think I'll have one on toast!”

Hold onto your vacuum cleaners, the Sanderson Sisters are coming to St Hilda's Community Centre.

Arrive from midday if you want to get in the mood before the film - with Pumpkin Mini Golf, Whack-a-Bat, ghoulish piñatas, face painting, costume competition and ice-screams, events like this only come along once in a blue moon.

12.00–1.20 Explore our haunted hall, have fun, fill your boots with spooky snacks

1.20–1.30 ‘The Big Day’ (Horror Comedy by Surjamuki)

1.30–3.00 Hocus Pocus

This screening is a fundraiser for our Surjamuki group (meaning ‘Sunflower’ in Bengali), a project working with young people with physical and learning disabilities. Our Boundary Estate Girl Guides Group will be running activities. We will screen a 10 minute horror-comedy short that the Surjamuki group made earlier this year before Hocus Pocus begins.

Tickets: Adults £6.00/Children £1.00, available from the centre (or you can buy through Eventbrite website, though they are a little more expensive).

WHAT TO EXPECT:

There will be chairs for everyone, and an area in front of the screen for people who prefer to sit/lie on the floor. Please do bring blankets and pillows to make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Spooky smoothies: £1.50 (suggested donation)

Ice Screams: £2.00 (suggested donation)

No alcohol permitted at this event

All ages are welcome, and you don’t need a child to come. Parents are expected to be responsible for their children at all times (maximum of three children per adult). The film is Parental Guidance, so it’s up to you to decide whether it’s appropriate for your kids.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We are a 5 minute walk from Shoreditch High Street station (18 Club Row, E2 7EY), and we are easy to get to by bus. There is also street parking near the centre which is free on a Saturday.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
