We are currently recruiting participants for The Dimbleby Cancer Care #Walk50 and I am reaching out to see if the parents that use Families online might be interested in taking part.

The walk is an endurance walking challenge taking in some of London’s most famous landmarks. The event is the charities flagship fundraiser and 2018 will be our 4th year. We now have three categories, 50km, 25km and 12km and hope to have a record number of participants this year. The 12km category is perfect for families with children.

Walking through the night, the route starts at St Thomas’ Hospital on the South Bank of the River Thames in the early evening, heading south towards Hammersmith, over the bridge and then following the River through Chelsea, back through Westminster to Trafalgar Square, through the heart of London’s theatreland, past Buckingham Palace to Piccadilly and Knightsbridge, along Oxford Street to the British Museum, through the City, past the Gherkin, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, then heading out to the bright lights of Canary Wharf before crossing the river to Greenwich as dawn breaks, following the river back westward, taking in the South Bank before finishing back at Guy’s Hospital in the shadow of The Shard.

Each participant is tasked with raising £300 to help raise over £75,000 to ensure the future of these vital cancer care services. .
