International advocacy organisation Global Citizen has announced that Emeli Sandé, Professor Green, Naughty Boy, Gabrielle Aplin, Luisa Omielan, and Hussain Manawer will perform at Global Citizen Live London, a free-ticketed arts and activism event to be held on Tuesday, 17 April at the O2 Academy Brixton. The night of special programming is timed to the centenary year of Nelson Mandela and the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Global Citizens will call on world leaders to honour Mandela’s legacy and make major investments towards ending extreme poverty by 2030.

Throughout 2018, Global Citizen will focus its campaigning efforts to honour the memory of the late South African leader, who delivered his final public speech in Trafalgar Square by calling for this generation to realise an end to extreme poverty. In response to Mandela’s appeal, Global Citizens are urging the world’s most powerful to make the political and financial commitments necessary to empower the world’s poor.

Starting on International Women's Day, Thursday, 8 March, activists and music fans can begin earning their free tickets by signing up at gclive.london and demanding world leaders make major investments to support women and girls, ensure legal gender equity, provide education for children in crises, and eradicate diseases including polio, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases.

Global Citizen Live London is supported by major partners House of Mandela, Johnson & Johnson, Live Nation, Clearly, and Uniting to Combat NTDs.
