Barnes Film Festival is thrilled to announce its THIRD annual celebration of young filmmakers, supported by Film4, UKTV, Luna Cinema, The Olympic Studios and Vue Cinemas. This year, the Festival is focusing on ‘first time films’, screening the debut films of established directors, actors and producers. Expected sell-out events of the Festival include an open air screening, a panel talk with prominent women in British film, and a Q&A with Kevin Macdonald.

Barnes Film Festival showcases films made by young people from across the UK, together with award-winning films from around the world. The Festival celebrates diversity, passion and creativity, and connects young filmmakers – and anybody interested in film – with industry professionals. The future of British film will come from the next generation of filmmakers, and Barnes Film Festival aims to nurture this talent.

As in previous years, Barnes Film Festival will be hosting its prestigious Filmmaking Competition, open to all age groups. There will also be inspiring film events open to all, including workshops, discussions, screenings and gatherings, led by successful figures from the film, documentary and animation industries.

Barnes Film Festival’s patrons include Daniel Battsek (Head of Film4), Emmy award winning actor Stanley Tucci, Bafta winning writer Steven Moffat and young British acting stars George Mackay and Lauren Mccrostie.
