The Bombadils are set to bring their unique blend of Canadian-Celtic-Americana to Europe for five shows this summer beginning in London at the award winning Green Note on June 26 before continuing on to Scandinavia. Their latest album, New Shoes (the duo's third release and first for Borealis Records), earned them Folk Music Ontario's Recording Artist of the Year award as well as Canadian Folk Music Award Nominations for Vocal Group of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year.

Classically trained, but brought together musically playing Irish pub songs, Luke Fraser and Sarah Frank create beautiful harmonies and enchanting melodies by reconfiguring old folk songs, poetry, and original songs into a new folk framework. Luke's guitar, mandolin, and well-placed harmonies are the ideal counterpoint to Sarah's sweet-yet-powerful lead vocals, lyrical fiddle playing, and claw-hammer banjo.

The Bombadils will be joined by Kaitlyn Raitz on cello, who has played about 100 shows with the band. Since the release of their first album in 2012, The Bombadils have toured throughout Canada, the US, Australia, and New Zealand, performed at folk festivals across North America, were artists in residence at The Banff Centre, and were the Canadian participants at the 2014 edition of Ethno Sweden, a folk music exchange between 90 musicians from 15 countries.
