Acts will have the opportunity to audition in front of experienced music industry judges and gain invaluable feedback. The winner of Open Mic UK will get the chance to record their debut album and music video plus benefit from extensive media promotion.

Acts can perform either covers or original materials from any genre, so whether you’re into Pop, R&B, Acoustic or Classical, Open Mic UK welcomes you. Acts who are successful in the audition go through to a Regional Final Showcase and will get to perform live at some of the best venues in the country. The winners of each regional final will then progress to the Open Mic UK National Grand Final which will be held at London’s indigo at The O2.

Finalists will get to perform in front of a live audience, celebrity guests and the judges including A&R music industry professionals from Universal Music, Sony and Modest Management. Aspiring singers and songwriters can enter by registering online to secure their audition.

Open Mic UK offers a fantastic opportunity to not only show off your musical talent to industry professionals, but also to gain real life experience and develop your act in this highly competitive industry!

About Open Mic:

Open Mic UK attracts over 10,000 acts every year across the country and previous winners include Birdy winner of Echo Award for Best International Rock/Pop Female Artist, Lucy Spraggan and Jaymi Hensley from Union J. The popular music competition was founded by Chris Grayston, an industry respected freelance music consultant for aspiring singers and acts, who also works as an A&R for Sony Music Entertainment and Thames Television.

Chris has written and co-produced his own music, signing with major labels in territories across the globe including Sony Music in Europe, Elap, Central Station Records and achieved a top 5 in the national charts in Australia and in America with New York based label Pacific Time. This culminated in chart success and a soundtrack deal for the comedy blockbuster Grown Ups. Chris’s CV boasts collaborations with influential acts and producers all over the UK from SL2 (On a Ragga Tip) to The Wide Boys (who remixed Sugababes and Rhianna). He has also been a talent scout for The Voice Kids and X Factor.
