Round off the last weekend of the school holidays with the return of our Family Day!

This year we've curated even more wonderful activities for the whole family, with a special focus on creativity and wellbeing.

We have teamed up with long-time friends of St. Margaret's House to bring you a wonderful mix of activities throughout the day, so make sure you save the date and share the news with your friends.

--------------------------------------------------

Interativos | 11am to 3pm

Our monthly Create Place workshop is holding a special theme for our Summer Jamboree, that all of the family can enjoy. You are invited to make a kaleidoscope collage inspired by Yanoi Kusama, using recycled materials, drawing and painting, with guidance from artist Sylvia Morgado. Materials are provided but you are more than welcome to bring things to use (thoughts, materials, books, stories, your own artworks...). Interativos is a playground for adults and children of all ages.

Yoga for Kids | 11.10am to 11.50am

Yoga and mindfulness helps children realise their full potential. Allow your child to experience the effects of yoga in a fun and interactive way. They will explore traditional yoga postures, breathing techniques and relaxation in a non-competitive environment, with our teacher Jess Carmichael.

Pregnancy Yoga | 12.45pm to 1.45pm | Yoganest

Returning after a short summer break, September 1st marks the return of our pregnancy yoga classes at the Yoganest. Pregnancy is a wonderful time to deepen your yoga practise and bond with your baby. Our pregnancy yoga course offers women a path into yoga whether they are experienced yogis or new to the practise. You will be led through a flow of adapted yoga postures and breathing practices designed to create comfort, stability, space and support for the physical changes that your body is experiencing. This class is structured through 4 week courses, led alternately by Rosie and Rosemarie who trained together with Womb Yoga. This structure enables students to get to know their own bodies and build a safe environment with other women. Priority will be given to students who can attend a complete course, however we may offer one-off or drop in classes closer to the time. There is limited space on the course (max 10 students) so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Freshwater Theatre Presents: Mischief Makers | 12pm to 1pm

Experience the mad-cap world of Beanoland and bring to life Dennis the Menace, Gnasher and Minnie the Minx through drama, storytelling, plenty of interactivity and lots of laughter. Children will be able to explore Beanoland, where they’ll enjoy fun, mischievous and prank-filled activities and transform themselves into some of The Beano’s best-loved characters. Mischief Makers is part of Freshwater Theatres 2018 Summer Reading Challenge. This drama-based workshop is designed for 6-11 year olds, sparking their imaginations to read on and discover; promoting the importance of reading whilst encouraging information skills.

Grand Union Orchestra Presents: Rhythms of the World | 1.30pm to 2.30pm

This is your chance to hear and learn some African and Latin-American percussion with Claude Deppa from South Africa and Carlos Fuentes from Chile.
