Two orchestral masterpieces, one exquisitely classical, the other passionately romantic. Mozart's sublime piano concerto no. 23 will showcase the prodigious talents of 14-year-old pianist Juni Kim and by contrast Tchaikovsky's dramatic Fantasy Overture 'Romeo and Juliet' - the iconic musical depiction of Shakespeare's tragic lovers – will close the concert. Programme also includes: a sparkling suite from Delibes' ballet 'Sylvia'; Flotow's operatic overture 'Martha', and Grieg's lively Symphonic Dances.
