This evening’s concert features two of the greatest works in the piano trio repertoire: Beethoven's “Ghost Trio" takes the listener on an exhilarating journey of beauty and drama, written at the height of the composer's creative powers. This is contrasted with the heavily romantic Piano Trio in B major, by a young Brahms combining virtuosity with beautiful singing melodies shared between all three instruments.

The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series is now in its third season and aims to share chamber music with a wider audience, featuring some of London’s finest chamber groups and players. All concerts are hosted by St James’s Church Piccadilly, a spectacular building situated on Piccadilly, designed by the great Sir Christopher Wren. This majestic London landmark, complete with outdoor marketplace, boasts a beautiful acoustic and plays host to one of the capital’s most stunning concert Fazioli pianos. Its location offers an enviable choice of bars, restaurants and hotels enabling you to plan the perfect musical experience to share with your loved ones and friends.

Rowena Calvert is one of the UK’s most dynamic cellists and is artistic director of the Hertford International Chamber Music Series. Natalie Klouda is in great demand as soloist and chamber musician and runs the Highgate International Chamber Music Festival. In 2016 Warren Mailley-Smith became the first British pianist to perform Chopin’s complete works from memory. One of the UK’s busiest concert pianists, he is Artistic director of The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series.

Audiences will be treated to an uplifting, entertaining and informative musical evening.
