In this followup to its sell-out DÉBUT CONCERT, London musical collective RETROPHONICA presents SECRETS OF THE ANCIENTS, a multimedia orchestral odyssey featuring choir and early electronic instruments, exploring how composers past and present have responded to mysteries of the distant past.
Prepare for a unique audio-visual experience spanning the continents and the ages, complemented by cocktails, lightshow, and narration, featuring original and adapted music from Mozart, Holst, Debussy, Yma Sumac, Jerry Goldsmith, Grieg, and the anonymous authors of antiquity. The performance will be realised by chamber ensemble, vocal soloists of the London Contemporary Voices, piano, organ, space--controlled theremin and ondes Martenot, with bespoke narration, arrangements and new compositions by Alex Palmer and Charlie Draper. For one night only.
