Musica Antica Rotherhithe present excerpts from Luigi Rossi's L'Orfeo, Francesco Cavalli's Ercole Amante and Jean-Baptiste Lully's Atys alongside an intimate programme of songs and instrumental works written during the lifetime of Louis XIV, from the Italian Cantatas popularised in the years following the first opera productions brought to France to the rarely heard airs of Michel Lambert and Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
As ever, a bar selling home-infused gins, wine and beer will be open from 7pm.
