Don’t listen to hearsay. Christmas is not cancelled. Head up the hill for a fun-filled festive season for all the family at Alexandra Palace!
It all begins when internationally acclaimed theatre company Tall Stories brings its celebrated production of The Gruffalo’s Child to our Victorian Theatre. Tall Stories’ hit musical adaptation of the award-winning sequel to the much-loved picture book The Gruffalo promises songs, laughs and lots of fun for families.
As you make your way to the theatre, festive lights and decorations will transform our East Court. Here you will find Santa’s Grotto where children can meet, receive a gift from and have their photos taken with the big man in red.
Whilst in the East Court, why not warm up with a hot dog and cheesy chips from Rollin’ Dogs (think classic butcher’s pork, cheeky chorizo or sumptuous seitan) or enjoy something sweet like candy floss or a Belgian chocolate dipped apple. You can also grab a drink for the show including mulled wine and cider to get you in the festive spirit!
Skating is a year-round activity at Ally Pally, but the ice rink feels particularly merry at Christmas time and gives an opportunity for a full-on-festive day out. Book onto one of our hour long public skate sessions or Christmas Discos and enjoy whizzing around the rink to your favourite Christmas tunes, followed by mulled wine, a cinnamon latte or gingerbread muffin and other festive treats in our Ice Cafe.
The Theatre is also the venue for the Ally Pally Christmas Film Season. Christmas classics on show include Elf, Die Hard, Miracle on 24th Street and Santa Claus the Movie among others.
All in all, we’re delighted to say that Christmas at Ally Pally has something for everyone. Make a day of it, make a night of it, make a day and night of it, Ally Pally looks forward to welcoming everyone back safely for a Christmas celebration to remember.
Please note that you can now only attend events with people from your household or social bubble; you’ll be asked to confirm this at check out!
