We’re planting over 250,000 bulbs in our gardens for our first Tulip Festival in spring 2021.
Hampton Court Palace is already famous for its spring bulbs but this year we’re going even bigger. You’ll see spectacular displays of tulips throughout the formal gardens and also in our courtyards. The Lower Orangery Garden will host a display of rare specialist varieties, direct from the Netherlands.
The long history of tulip planting began at Hampton Court Palace with Mary II. The legacy of her interest in garden design and her extravagant tulip vases can still be seen today.
Find out more about the history of tulips and gardening tips from our gardeners with our dedicated Tulip trail running from 17 April to 3 May 2021.
