London’s historic Leadenhall Market, home to 35 boutique retailers, wine-bars, restaurants, cafes and an award-winning pub, is looking forward to welcoming visitors back as the government’s lockdown restrictions lift this Spring.

The iconic covered Victorian market with its beautiful, airy wrought iron and glass structure, is an ideal place to safely shop and dine from April 12th, when non-essential retail and outdoor drinking and dining is permitted. Situated at the heart of the City, minutes from Bank station, Leadenhall’s soaring painted roof will also ensure visitors remain dry during any April showers.

Leadenhall Market’s traditional English pub, The Lamb Tavern, will reopen from April 12th for tables outside (groups of six, or two households up to 10 people). The Lamb was established in 1780 and was rebuilt in its present form in 1881 when Leadenhall Market was reconstructed. Customers will be able to admire the market’s breathtaking surroundings whilst tucking into a range of dishes – from British mussels and samphire to Hampshire game and suet pie or wild mushroom and chestnut risotto.

Family owned Windsor Flowers will also be reopening together with specialist drinks retailer Amathus, British luxury clothing stores Barbour and Reiss, Regis Snack Bar, hair salon Nicholson & Griffin, beauty salon and clinic Askinology and opticians Hawkes & Wainer.

The market’s wine bars (Bedales, Brokers) and other restaurants (including Luc’s Brasserie, Pizza Express) along with traditional French patisserie Aux Merveilleux de Fred and Cheese Leadenhall plan to reopen on May 17th, when indoor dining is permitted.

Leadenhall Market will be celebrating its 700th anniversary this year with a series of exciting events – beginning in May. Visitors past and present are being asked to share memories via the Market’s social channels using #Leadenhall700 @LeadenhallMkt. Visit www.leadenhallmarket.co.uk for latest details.

Leadenhall Market is owned and managed by The City of London Corporation.
