In some parts of the world people believe twins share a soul, so how can you be a twin alone?

WHOLE is the story of two siblings - two soulmates, two lives intertwined - told by one of them alone. Written and performed by Emma Spearing, WHOLE is a beautifully crafted love letter to her twin sister, a journey diving into the depths of love and complex grief through immersive soundscapes, song and striking visual imagery. Brutally honest, moving and tender, WHOLE is a pathway through memories and a ceremony of life, exploring the themes of identity, love, belief systems, and what it means to lose the person who makes us whole.

This timely work-in-progress will be performed in the Arcola Outside space, as part of the Arcola Theatre’s Today I’m Wiser Festival. The Arcola describes the festival as “inspired by the present and fuelled by our collective desire for change.” We live in a world where making space for - and finding new ways to - express and talk about grief and loss have never been more important.
