The West End’s newest chamber music platform, The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series, continues in 2022 with five stunning candlelit concerts exploring some of the most romantic chamber music ever written.

Featuring
Martyn Jackson (violin)
Matt Jones (viola)
Tim Lowe (cello)
Warren Mailley-Smith (piano)

Programme
Schumann – Piano Quartet in E-flat Major Op.47
INTERVAL
Brahms - Piano Quartet in G Minor Op.25

The popular Piccadilly Chamber Music Series is delighted to present five candlelit concerts from January to July 2022 at St James’ Piccadilly, exploring the chamber music of Johannes Brahms alongside music of other great romantic composers who influenced this towering genius, or who were influenced by Brahms himself.

In our penultimate concert, two masterpieces of the romantic chamber repertoire appear side by side. Both works explore a plethora of moods and emotions and after equally epic struggles, conclude with enormous positivity, with Brahms whipping up the piano into an almost-Liszt-like frenzy!
Three of the UK’s most brilliant and in-demand string players collaborate in this performance with concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith to perform these tour-de-forces of the Chamber Music repertoire.

Set in the heart of London’s West End, The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series provides an exciting new platform for some of the UK’s most outstanding musicians and a new opportunity for audiences to hear some of the world’s greatest chamber music masterpieces performed in an inspiring setting. Each concert showcases some of the UK’s greatest musicians in displays of enormous virtuosity and sublime calmness.
