Inspired by large Bruegel and Ody Saben paintings and Grayson Perry’s Walthamstow Tapestry, Writing the Future composer Alex Paxton’s kaleidoscopic new piece is a busy and sensually colourful tapestry that depicts all aspects of our society. Written to include the sound from a series of improvisatory workshops with local schoolchildren, the piece is a riot of colour in sound.

Alongside this, the premiere of a new commission from American composer, performer, and scholar of experimental music, George Lewis.

Programme to include:
Alex Paxton New work (London Sinfonietta commission, world premiere)
George Lewis New work (London Sinfonietta / Southbank Centre co-commission, world premiere)
