St. Pancras International has unveiled this year’s Christmas installation, a family-friendly festive display, in partnership with ZSL London Zoo.

Following a challenging time for London’s most-loved destinations, this year, St. Pancras International has used its legacy of Christmas installations to show support for another iconic destination - London Zoo, by partnering to create its famous annual Christmas tree creation.

To thank those who have continued to support the Zoo’s charity projects and the welfare of its animals over the last year, the two destinations have teamed up to create the traditional story book creation, featuring some familiar characters which have inspired more children’s stories than any other.

The lions, tigers, giraffes, and thousands of other animals of ZSL London Zoo have been part of London’s history for almost 200 years, and most people have their own special story about the zoo.

The Zoo’s ‘Tails from the Zoo’ bedtime story series which was released throughout the pandemic helped keep tales from the Zoo in the hearts and minds of those who couldn’t longer visit in person during lockdown.

Now, as both ZSL London Zoo and St. Pancras International prepare to welcome even more visitors back throughout the festive period, the two will bring to life the wonderful, remarkable story of London Zoo and some of its famous residents.

Visitors to the station will be able to enjoy the full effect of the lights and sounds of the Zoo’s animals as part of the display. Throughout November and December, eagle-eyed visitors will also spot some additional animals on display around the station - as if they have leapt from the pages of the story book - and are invited to capture the tree and share their #MyLondonZoo stories and memories via social media platforms.

The launch of the tree kicks off a season of family friendly event for both destinations. Throughout December, the station will host a different choir each day in the lead up to Christmas, as part of its Caroling for Causes activation.

The St. Pancras International Tree is located in the station’s main concourse until January 2021.
