Irish Film London present the family friendly feature The Secret of Kells to audiences as part of St Patrick’s Film Festival 2022.

Nominated for an Academy Award in 2010 for best animated feature, The Secret of Kells is the first instalment in Cartoon Saloon’s Irish folklore trilogy, preceding Song of the Sea (2014) and Wolfwalkers (2020). Featuring a visually stunning animation style which draws on the famous Book of Kells manuscript, the film follows Brendan, it’s young protagonist, living in a medieval outpost under siege. Brendan soon embarks on a quest when he discovers a magical but unfinished book forcing him to venture outside his home. Directors Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey deftly mix different aspects of Irish folklore in this now a modern Irish classic

This screening will be followed by a very special craft workshop where grown ups and kids alike can take part.
