To mark Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week (2nd - 8th May 2022), Tommee Tippee is welcoming parents and parents-to-be to share their parenting highs and lows at its three-day pop-up Truth Booth at Westfield, White City.

87% of parents in the UK feel judged for their parenting styles[1], battling societal pressure, online criticism and personal expectations when raising their little ones. In a bid to build a more confident, compassionate community, Tommee Tippee has launched #TheTruthIs campaign to empower parents to share their truths without judgement and recognise that everyone’s every day is different – and that’s okay.

Stationed in London shopping centre Westfield, the Tommee Tippee Truth Booth will offer parents a safe space to communicate their personal truths and join an open, honest conversation about parenting. Participating parents will enter the private booth and write their truth on a glass panel, using prompts such as ‘Before birth I never thought I’d have to…’ to help guide their reveal. All truths will be captured as static images or recorded as video footage, which parents can send directly to their social media accounts using #TheTruthIs.

Whether it’s the joy of hearing your little one’s first words, “mum-guilt” at returning to work, the pressure of “breast is best”, conception struggles, or mental health issues during or after pregnancy (68% of women and 75% of men with mental health problems are parents), there’s no denying that parenting brings a range of overwhelming, contradictory, and often unexpected emotions. The Truth Booth strives to remove the stigma surrounding these truths and recognise that the best kind of parent is a happy parent, free of judgment and doing their best for their child.

Cancel the critics; celebrate the wins; connect with others.
