Contemporary craft innovators FELT will pop up at Safehouse in Peckham for the launch of a new collection and exhibition, Sensational Beings. Housed within an incredible derelict Victorian house, the free to visit exhibition will showcase the work of twenty established and emerging contemporary artists and makers who are creating bold and colourful art using traditional craft methods, from applique to ceramics, textile art and more. The fully shoppable show features otherworldly creatures, mythological animals and jinns with a bold use of colours, textures and materials.

Highlights of the collection include Oscar Crabb’s signature patchwork wall hangings, large scale photographs by Casey Moore and enchanting ceramics by Mercedes Workman. Tom Norris’ gestural and vivacious pots will sit alongside Alice Neaves’ ethereal, roughly coloured canvases and textile artist Margaret Rice’s special edition “wearable” knitted vests inspired by Louise Bourgeois’ spider. The space will be transformed with large-scale works and objects from a host of artists and makers who are challenging traditional craft conventions with their eye-catching work. Wall hangings will adorn fireplaces, playful ceramics and objects will be revealed corners and sculptures can be found dotted on windowsills.
