Pick up craft techniques, gain expert advice and get inspired in interactive sessions, from Indian block printing to beautiful embroidery. There's something for everyone to enjoy and take home! Take a look below for a flavour of the mini workshops and demonstrations coming to Hampton Court Palace this May.

The Arty Crafty Place

BlockCraft is the art of Block Printing presented by The Arty Crafty Place, the Oxfordshire based company who have the largest collection of printing blocks in the world. It can be used to print fabric and paper and they will be demonstrating throughout the event and also hosting workshops where you can have a go at printing a tote bag, a tea towel, or a set of notecards.

Oh Hello Maker

Emily Dawe of Oh Hello Maker will be presenting a series of fantastic calligraphy workshops. Emily will teach you the basic skills needed to produce your very own beautiful modern calligraphy. You will start from the beginning, from how to hold the pen, right the way through to all the sweeps and strokes you need to transform an everyday word or phrase into a stunning work of art!

Peaches & Tea

Assemble, decorate and create your own pair of polymer clay earrings from pre-cut components in a variety of colours. Create a pair of classic hoops or a statement pair ready for a summer of garden parties or an upcoming wedding. Your lightweight earrings are perfect for everyday wear and best worn drinking a G&T with friends!

Peas and Needles

Lucy Rowan of Peas and Needles will be running a series of hands-on craft workshops where you can come and learn how to create a punch needle flower or a fluffy woven wall hanging - you could even try out your knotting skills and make yourself a macrame plant hanger! Or why not join us for an hour of pom pom and tassel making, to create your very own unique bag charm? By the end of the workshops, you’ll have the skills & confidence to continue exploring these wonderful crafts and play with more ideas & materials.

Willow & Finn Candle Bar Experience

Visitors will be able to learn the craft of soy candle making from Surrey-based Willow & Finn – wicking their chosen vessel, choosing a fragrance, and waiting for the right temperature before finally pouring.

Kingdom Forge

Kingdom Forge will bring the amazing world of forging to the East Gardens of Hampton Court Palace. During the demonstrations at their fully functioning blacksmiths workshops, visitors will be able to discover the various traditional forging processes, but also get hands-on and forge their own keyring which you can take home to wow friends and family
