Sunday 19th June will see The Marylebone Summer Festival treat its visitors to the highly anticipated, first ever Dog Show, presented by Mr & Mrs Small, in St Marylebone Parish Church Gardens. Expect a whole day of canine merriment from mid-morning until late afternoon; including expert speakers from the dog community, a spot of yoga with dogs (affectionally known as ‘doga’), a variety of competitions designed for both owners and their pets to take part in, with coveted prizes to be won, as well as numerous demonstrations and special book signings.

The day will be dedicated to dog lovers, dog owners and, of course, the dogs themselves.

The event will be hosted by BBC Radio London’s presenters, Jo Good and Anna Webb - a duo who know a thing or two about the canine world themselves, having co-authored the book Barking Blondes and held the first-ever dedicated dog broadcasting slot – The Barking Hour - on BBC Radio London.

The competitions will start at 11am, with prizes to be won in the following categories - Look Like Your Owner, Fancy Dress, Obedience and Special Talents. Various prizes have been provided by partners of the Dog Show including a grooming appointment, toys and treats from Mr & Mrs Small, a New Patient Consultation with Holistic Vet Nurse, a book by best-selling author and founder of The London Vet Clinic Bruce Fogle, which will be dedicated to the winner, a Doga book dedicated to the winner and 5 yoga classes worth £100 from Total Chi. There are a limited number of entry spaces for the competitions, with an entry fee of £10 and all funds donated to festival charity partner Greenhouse Sports.

Across the afternoon, until 5.30pm, dog experts and businesses will be on hand to provide show-and-tell, give advice and run some dog themed activities. Holistic Vet Nurse, renowned for their bespoke treatments for dogs, including dog massages, nutritional therapy and dog reiki, will be providing exclusive demonstrations. Dogamhny will be leading stress-relieving, bond-building and, all importantly, fun Doga classes. Doga is a hybrid between a love for yoga and for dogs. It incorporates some of the traditional elements of yoga whilst supporting the bond we have we our four-legged friends, with yoga mats provided by Lululemon. The London Vet Clinic founder, Bruce Fogle, will also be at the festival and signing his book. Bruce is a member of several worldwide veterinary associations, the co-founder and vice-chair of the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, author of many scientific and advisory veterinary pieces and a proud dog owner himself, so will be sure to provide some superb and interesting insight into the canine world at his signing.
