Join the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) after hours from 5.30pm on Wednesday 1 June for a chance to explore our Grade I listed home, discover the architectural plans and documents behind its design, and enjoy a guided architecture tour.

In 1958 architect Denys Lasdun won the commission to build the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) a new home. A home that would act as a visual representation of the RCP’s changing organisation as it became a forward-thinking institution getting involved in improving public health. A building that would also act as a reminder of the institution’s 500-year history with purposefully designed spaces in which to care for its archives, rare books and historic collections.

Explore the public spaces and many of the intriguing rooms of Lasdun's design. Visit the atmospheric council chamber to discover the history behind the design of this modernist masterpiece through its plans, drawings and construction photos. And chat to our expert team about this fascinating structure.

Guided tour

At 6pm there is the opportunity to explore Lasdun’s unique building with an expert from our archives, heritage library and museum team. Make sure to a book a ticket including the guided tour as spaces on this are limited.
