Call your tuk-tuk driver, a tropical Thai festival promising coconut sipping, street food sampling and beach bar relaxing is coming to London this summer. Anyone who has a trip to Thailand on the bucket list or is looking to reminisce on gap year backpacking memories, won’t want to miss the Thailand Showcase event.

Organised by the Thai Embassy, from 5 – 7 August, expect to find the very best of Thai food, drink, arts and culture at Canopy Market in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross. The vibrant culture of Thailand will come to life and the country’s chilled vibe is sure to be compelling for those looking to relax in London’s sunshine over this three-day event.

With London’s top Thai chefs serving classic dishes from all regions of Thailand, it’s the perfect chance to get a taste of what the country has to offer.

Try out a traditional Thai papaya salad, get stuck into mango and sticky rice at The Thai Desserts Parlour, or turn up the heat and enjoy a Thai green curry at top Thai restaurant pop-ups, like Rosa’s Café, Nipa by Royal Lancaster London, Siam Niyom and Thai Tho. Indulge in these mouth-watering dishes before grabbing a Chang beer and putting your feet up at the Chang beach bar.

As well as being known for its refreshing drinks, spicy street food and white sandy beaches, visitors will also have the chance to explore the magic of Thailand’s arts and crafts industry. Vendors will be selling contemporary Thai jewellery, accessories, homewares, and so much more, all of which are typical of the country’s famous night markets.

Furthermore, exclusive Thai dances, performances and Muay Thai shows will make it an unforgettable experience and sure to give visitors that wanderlust feeling.

To top it all off, the Royal Thai Embassy will be running a raffle to celebrate the reopening of Thailand post Covid-19, with a travel to Thailand package that will see two visitors win a Thai Airways flight from London to Bangkok and a two-night stay in a five-star hotel in the country’s capital. Plus, there will be plenty more prizes up for grabs over the three days.
