Middlesex Community Bonding Walking Tour & Pub Crawl
Middlesex does not exist anymore as a county, but it still exists on our letters, in the mindset and emotionally, for Londoners. It is nearly as old as The City of London and was made up of 32 London districts, which are now part of various London boroughs.
The walk is to combine energies: to recognise the scope of old Middlesex, to support pubs, to deal with the need to exercise and for people of the various districts we cover to meet and make friends. We are now facing a 'Costs of Living' crisis and it is hoped that these walks will encourage a sense of community spirit. There are to be four walks a year - one per season, with the first in October '21. They will always take place on a Monday, and cover the districts of Pinner, Harrow on the Hill, Ealing, Twickenham, Teddington and Hampton Wick.
The Itinery for the First Walking Tour & Pub Crawl is as follows:
Monday, October 24th 2022
Start:
12.00noon The Queen's Head, High St. Pinner (Pinner Tube)
2.00pm The White Horse, Middle Road, Harrow on the Hill
3.15pm The King's Arms, The Grove, Ealing
8.00pm The Barmy Arms, Waterside, Twickenham
9.20pm The King's Head, High St, Teddington
10.20pm The Lion, Hampton Wick
End of Walk
In between there will be talks about the history of Middlesex and London in The Dark Ages during the Heptarchy. Join and/or drop off at any point
