Join us for an evening of Sea Shanties and Songs of the Seas with Swinging the Lead.
Swinging the Lead began singing sea songs and sea shanties together in 2010 and are based in NW Kent in England on the banks of the tidal River Thames at Gravesend.
They have been the resident sea shanty crew on the famous tea clipper, tall ship ‘Cutty Sark‘ at her dry berth in Greenwich since 2011 and continue to inform and entertain visitors from around the world.
The musical offering ranges from unaccompanied traditional shanties through to self-penned contemporary sea songs with material taken from the tradition and 20th century songwriters such as Stan Rogers, Cyril Tawney and Tom Lewis amongst many others.
