Westfield Stratford City partners with ‘FinFluencers’ Poku Banks, This Girl Talks Money and Financielle for new #BossBudgeting event

As millennial searches for ‘financial education’ rises by over 155%1, visitors to Westfield Stratford City can join IRL FinTok workshops during a three-day event, with free tickets available on Eventbrite here.

With the rise of FinTok and FinFluencers across social media platforms, #BossBudgeting, is a new series of informative and interactive workshops, that will be hosted by three of the UK’s top and trustworthy ‘FinFluencers’; Poku Banks, This Girl Talks Money and Financielle from Thursday 27th October 2022 to Saturday 29th October 2022.

Audiences will be able to hear how they can become the boss of their own budgets and discover clever finance 'hacks' to future-proof their finances.

Free to attend, #BossBudgeting will dispel money myths and help young people improve their knowledge of ‘all things money’ with easy-to-understand advice, tips, tricks and Q+As on how to become more financially literate, whilst the cost-of-living continues to take grip.

Each day #BossBudgeting sessions will address a different money topic from; making and managing money with Poku Banks and how to shop smartly and sustainably with This Girl Talks Money alongside co-host of the Money Unfiltered podcast, Victoria Nabarro - to growing savings and investments for the future with Financielle.

More young people are seeking out financial insights and guidance from social channels. Recent studies found that 72% of 15 to 18-year-olds said they wanted to learn more about money and finance2, with only 15% citing that they get their financial education from school (LIBF, 2022)2, whereas one in four Gen Zers say they get investing insights from TikTok and Instagram (Investopedia, 2022)3.

Ellie Austin-Williams, Founder of This Girl Talks Money said: “Growing up, I wish I’d had easier access to resources that could help me understand my money and finances better. I created This Girl Talks Money in 2019, offering young people in the same situation, advice, answers and explanations to the most asked questions and complicated concepts. #BossBudgeting by Westfield allows me to share my valuable learnings and reach even more young people needing support with their finances. I’m so excited to be a part of this great event alongside other respected financial content creators and super excited to be able to get to meet my audience face to face.”

Alyson Hodkinson, General Manager and Head of CSR UK at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield added: “We’re proud to launch our #BossBudgeting event in collaboration with three of today’s most influential FinFluencers to support people looking to get to a point of financial wellness, so they can live their best lives for less. Being able to bring this type of content, that’s usually only available online, to visitors to our centres is really exciting and I have no doubt that those who sign up will get some really valuable take outs and leave feeling more confident with their finances.”

#BossBudgeting will be live at Westfield Stratford City on the 27th, 28th, 29th October 2022 as part of Westfield’s youth empowering Future You programme.
