Master the art of creating high-impact black-and-white photography

A striking way to capture the essence of nature and wildlife! In this workshop, we learn to visualise and create images in monochrome. Without colour to distract the eye, the photograph is distilled to the essentials of shape, contrast, texture and mood, and the image is all the more dramatic as a result.

We look at the nature of light and key success factors for both direct and diffused sources. This includes how to expose for highlights and shadows and how to optimise contrast and tonal range in a variety of situations, including dramatic and challenging light. These tools allow us to convey meaning and emotion in our photography.

Composition is a key component for monochrome photography, and we look at ways of creating strong and clean images with impact and balance.
Meeting Point: Courtyard Pagoda
