HO COULD SAY NO TO A YULE LOG SPECIAL UP THE ARTS? We couldn’t resist it, so we offer you laughs and no turkeys. Our favourite comics well doused in the Christmas spirit.
“…audiences go away with a memorable and entertaining experience they couldn’t have got elsewhere.” - TIME OUT.

JAMES DOWDESWELL (PICTURED)
West Country comic Dowdeswell has built up some brilliantly clever gags from his slightly absurd observational standpoint on such unlikely-sounding topics like a retired train announcer at Bristol's Temple Meads Station. His breakthrough came by winning the Jongleurs New Act Award in 2000 and supporting the irrepressible Phil Kay on a national tour.
Since then James' comedy has travelled as far as Shanghai and Dubai. He is shortly off to Melbourne and Singapore. James has performed in four Edinburgh shows, 7, 2005, Dowdesworld, 2003, Dunlop & Dowdeswell, 2002 and The Big Value Show, 2001.
"Witty one liners and extended pieces - like Eminem rapping Shakespeare - proved a triumph." Venue Magazine.
"Brilliant." The Times.

VIC LAMBRUSCO
Veteran performance poet and BBC radio star, Vic delivers in your face verse with rhymes and belly laughs. A prime mover behind the rise of performance poetry on the 1980’s, now he splits his time as a regular on Radio 4 and gigging on the poetry and comedy circuits.
"urban verse with a hard edge" – The Observer, "the funniest thing I've seen for twenty years - and I'm only 29!" (audience member at Buzz Club, Manchester).

LEE NELSON
Nelsey takes time out from riding his chopper bike around da estate to be da geezer on stage. Lee is the brainchild of comedian, Simon Brodkin, and is a regular fixture on The Morning After Show (C4). Simon has also appeared in the self-penned Baghdad To Balham (C4), plus two roles in the latest series of Absolutely Fabulous (BBC1) and AbFabChristmas Special (BBC 1). Runner-Up, Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2005
"The Funniest New Act I’ve Seen In Years" Harry Hill

MITCH ANDERSON

“An absolute charmer… patches of genius.” - Scotland on Sunday

PETER TENNANT (MC)
Peter offers a camp festival of wit and musical fun. Writer, singer and uberbitch. A lover of low and highlife with a distinctive mic technique. Prue entertainment with naughty edge and the supreme compere.
