Coming out can be painless for some, but stressful and even traumatic for others. Through the combination of powerful imagery and text, this exhibition delves into the challenges faced when individuals of ethnic minority acknowledge their sexual orientation to themselves and those around them.

"It feels so strange to not tell your parents; as if you are hiding something. Theoretically, sexuality should be one part of a person; not their whole personality. If you take that part and put it aside, you should be fine. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. It's like living a dual life." Through the combination of powerful imagery and text, Sonalle delves into the complexities of how ethnic minority lesbian, gay, bisexual people reveal their sexual orientation for the first time, portraying both the positive and negative aspects.
