The City of London we see today is built on the rubbish and ruins of 1500 years of occupation. Archaeologists working here are especially lucky because the waterlogged conditions down by the River Thames have preserved materials that would normally have disappeared.
Join us for a day of activities exploring the clues left in the dirt under our feet which we can use to interpret life in the past – what the environment was like, what animals people kept, what they ate, what they made, how they lived. Find out how archaeologists find, analyse and interpret these clues and see some original objects excavated in London
