This summer, St Christopher’s Place, the charismatic shopping district in London’s West End, is, mixing its boutique fashion and alfresco dining heritage with open air theatre, to create a full two weeks of romantically-themed entertainment, festivities and offers for shoppers – launching the ‘Summer of Love’ festival.

With the first week featuring performances from West End theatre troupe, Live Canon, showcasing the best of London Love Poetry including five hundred years of verses, rhymes, sonnets and elegies by all those who have lived and loved in London and a master class in romance; a tongue in cheek ‘life coach‘ workshop to encourage women to propose to their men on the newly installed Proposal Bench, the second week promises even more romantic activity.

For the first time ever St Christopher’s Place has partnered with the multi award-winning Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre to present two exclusive performances on 3 August from their forth coming musical ‘Crazy for you’, which opens on 28 July. Clare Foster and Kim Medcalf will perform a romantic Gershwin medley as shoppers, passers-by and diners gather during the busy lunch-time rush. Since opening in 1932, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has become one of London’s most cherished cultural gems and a much-loved tradition of the summer season for Londoners and visitors alike.

Other key festivities to look out for include; ‘first date’ fashion and style tips at Whistles, and a chance to feed your nostalgia at Mrs. Kibble’s pop up love themed sweetie stall in the piazza. Pop into TM Lewin and enter their in store raffle for a chance to win His ‘n’ Hers shirts. From romantically-themed menus, and ‘love potion’ cocktails on special offer at Cocochan, all activities have been specially designed for shoppers and tourists to celebrate fashion, shopping and outdoor-dining with a unique romantic theatrical twist at St Christopher’s Place this summer.
