Children's auditions for HONK JR

Mayhem Musical Theatre Company is delighted to announce audition details for their first ever kids only production of the musical ‘HONK Jr.’, to be performed at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre, Kingston-upon-Thames on 25th and 26th November. The Show
This award winning musical based on one of the world’s favourite fairy-tales, "The Ugly Duckling" is a fun filled adventure in discovering the joys of being different. Ugly is born, of course, as a Duckling but it soon becomes clear that he is no ordinary Duck. Mocked on the farmyard, pursued by the ever-hungry Cat, Ugly finds himself lost on a nearby marsh in the middle of a duck-shoot and embarks on an odyssey through the countryside, meeting a battery of colourful characters and finding himself, and love, along the way. There are a large number of roles available (check out the character breakdown section for more information) all of which will be played by actors between the ages of 7-16 in our very first Mayhem Kids show!

Performances & Rehearsals
The show will be performed at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre, Kingston-upon-Thames on 25th and 26th November with a matinee on Saturday 26th (3 performances in total). All cast members will also be required to attend the dress rehearsal on Thursday 24th November (evening). Rehearsals will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings in Morden as well as some Sunday afternoons in South Wimbledon, although not all cast members may be called for all rehearsals. At the auditions you will be asked to advise us of any dates on which your child will not be able to attend rehearsal. Please be honest about supplying this information as it will be used to draw up a rehearsal schedule.

Membership
Mayhem welcome anyone to audition for our shows, however, you must be a member of the group to perform should you be cast. New kids membership fees are £20 for the year. In addition, there will be a show fee of £20 to cover the cost of rehearsal venues and insurance.

Auditions
Auditions are open to both members and non members between the ages of 7 and 16, however as mentioned above, if cast, you must become a member of the company to participate in the show. Due to copyright laws, audition material including dialogue expects and music can only be sent out when you book your audition slot. Auditions will be held at Emmanuel Hall (Dudley Drive, Morden, Surrey, SM4 4RJ) on Thursday 15th September (7.30pm – 8.30pm) and Saturday 17th September (1.00pm – 3.30pm). If you cannot make the audition dates, please let us know and we will try to organise an alternative date and time for you to audition. However, due to a very tight schedule, please be aware that this may not always be possible.
