This is a Christmas sale with a social conscience where Fine Cell Work puts JOY into gift shopping. It’s just one of the lettering combinations appearing on a new range of cushions, alongside Fine Cell Work’s traditional and contemporary embroidered designs that are perfect for every home and every decorative style. Everything from hand stitched cushions to appliqué bags, embroidered cosies to cute keepsakes have been made to the highest standard by inmates in UK prisons following special patterns created by some of the leading names in design inc Cath Kidston, Emily Peacock, Celia Birtwell, Daisy de Villeneuve and Tom Dixon.

Little stuffed robins make seasonal decorations that trill into the spring; lavender filled pillows decorated with Hollyhocks are ideal for freshening drawers; whilst the witty Jailbird bag with its sparrow motif is bound to capture fashionista’s attention. Pin cushions and sewing kits make perfect stocking fillers and encourage everyone to pick up a needle and get stitching.

There will also be talks on the hidden history of quilts from Sue Prichard, the V&A’s curator of contemporary textiles along with stitching classes, films, screenings and demonstrations during the sale.
