The infamous Barbershop Comedy is hitting the West End! On 30th November The Arts Theatre in London’s West End is going to be the venue of our glamorous comedy gala to wrap up the brilliant fundraising of Movember 2011. The evening will consist of stand up comedians including the world renowned Nina Conti and the second half will see the online smash hits “Paul Mal Barbara” make their live debut! It’s not everyday a barbershop produces its own madcap comedy in fact we don’t think it’s ever been done before. Richard Marshall the owner of Pall Mall Barbers has always been a lover of comedy and throughout his career felt that the barbershop is the perfect setting for a comedy to take place. When he saw one of our regular clients on the comedy circuit he felt that they should join forces and develop his comedy idea. That regular client was Guy Hescott and together they came up with the concept of the world’s worst barbers. The comedy setting is the complete opposite of Pall Mall Barbers. You want a great haircut in stylish and relaxing surroundings – you head to Pall Mall Barbers. You want to risk being attacked by killer Jack Russells or to be at the mercy of a sadistic barber on a bad day, you head to “Paul Mal Barbara”. What Rich and Guy have essentially done is create arch nemesis – Pall Mall Barbers and Paul Mal Barbara are the “He-Man vs. Skeletor” or the “Rocky vs. Drago” (in Rocky IV – as if I need to tell you which Rocky film Drago is in!) There is absolutely no love loss between the two establishments though they are no guesses who comes out on top.
