Drawing Projects An Exploration of the Language of Drawing is both a practical guide to drawing and an informative insight into the minds of artists who work with the medium. This comprehensive study of the art of drawing provides both a commentary on leading contemporary practitioners and a 'how to explore drawing' style approach, celebrating drawing as the process of seeing made visible.
From studying our relationship with drawing from our earliest encounters with it as children, before a distinction between writing and drawing is made, Drawing Projects explores the freedom of expression that drawing allows. Profiling 19 artists and illustrators, including Dryden Goodwin, Cornelia Parker, Claude Hath, William Kentridge, Jeff Koons, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Julie Mehretu and Keith Tyson, the book reveals their working methods and practices.
The book is introduced by Kate Mcfarlane, Curator/Co-director, The Drawing Room, London.
Black Dog Publishing Limited and PAPERWORK invite you to the launch of Drawing Projects An Exploration of the Language of Drawing.
Copies of the book will be available at £15.00 (RRP £19.95), signed by artists featured in Drawing Projects during the launch, and a selection of drawings from the book will also be on display in WORK Gallery, adjacent to the Bookshop. Refreshments will be served.
