Author and birdwatcher Dominic Couzens picks his top ten European birdwatching hotspots. Many of these are wetlands - some freshwater, and some marine. Dominic is an experienced bird watching field trip leader and has written over 20 books so his talk is packed with fascinating facts and information - and you'll leave feeling inspired to go out and explore some of these lesser known birdwatching sites.

Dominic Couzens is a natural history and birding writer, with more than 20 book titles to his name. He is also a regular birdwatching field trip leader since 1988, organising and leading birding trips in the UK. He loves meeting people and sharing with them the things that excite him about nature, especially his main area of expertise, which is bird behaviour.

He believes passionately in communicating greater understanding about the natural world and is fortunate that the opportunities offered to him through his books, magazines and TV work enables him to share an understanding of birds and other wildlife. In his spare time he a great fan of football and cricket and, in fact, most other sports as well. Sometimes he has even been known go sledding downhill at great speed on an old tea-tray!
