This critically acclaimed photography exhibition is a collection of ten years’ work by Gervasio Sánchez, an award-winning Spanish photographer and journalist who has dedicated his life’s work to raising awareness about the devastating humanitarian impact of landmines.
Vidas Minadas: Living with Mines follows the lives of landmine survivors from Angola, Bosnia, Cambodia, Colombia, El Salvador, Iraq, Mozambique and Nicaragua. Sánchez’s work sensitively documents the lives of the landmine survivors – both children and adults – that he visited over ten years, and how their bravery and strength has helped them to look beyond their physical problems to build families, succeed in education, and settle into employment.
